Microsoft’s Latest Update: Solving the ‘File Too Large’ Email Dilemma
How often have you been in the throes of sending an urgent email with a crucial attachment, only to be thwarted by the all-too-familiar alert – “file too large to send”?
It’s a common source of frustration, but Microsoft has been paying attention to our collective grumbles. They’ve recently announced an update set to eliminate the ‘file too large’ problem for good.
Microsoft has outlined a plan on their Microsoft 365 roadmap to integrate Outlook with their OneDrive cloud storage platform.
This means that when you’re about to exceed the attachment size limit, Outlook will suggest uploading your file to OneDrive, ensuring your document still makes its way to the intended recipient.
Users of Android devices will be the first to benefit from this new feature, but the wider rollout is scheduled for later this month, so the wait won’t be long.
This update promises to put an end to the need for compressing, resizing, or abandoning large files, and the reliance on third-party services – which often pose a security risk. Microsoft is on track to deliver a more streamlined and efficient email experience.
